Weed remover

The désherbineuse is a hoe combined with a spraying system on the row. The assembly is mounted on the hoe or attached via a 3-point hitch at the front or rear of the tractor. The mixed weeding technique allows reducing by at least 60% the quantities of active substances used per hectare. A catch-up treatment is possible if the pressure from weeds remains strong.
Advantages
- The 2 nozzles placed on each side of the row limit the umbrella effect and improve the impact on weed.
- A reduction in the transfer of phytosanitary products outside the plot.
- Spraying by sight allows choosing products adapted to each flora.
- Better soil aeration which promotes mineralization and soil warming.
- Better water infiltration in the inter-row and thus less runoff.
- Prevents the formation of a crust.
Disadvantages
- The window of use can be short. Désherbinage is a delicate operation to implement because it combines two techniques that do not require the same conditions : for hoeing warm and drying weather, and for chemical weeding sufficient humidity, limited maximum temperatures, no wind.
- Ideally, 2 days of sunny weather should follow this work to allow the drying of seedlings uprooted by the hoe teeth.
- A weeding speed significantly lower than generalized weeding due to a smaller working width (3 to 9 m) and a lower working speed (6 to 8 km/h). Moreover, a second pass is often required to avoid the risk of late emergence.
