Pruner

From Triple Performance
Topper "Robert Melix"
Matériel

The topper is used once the crops are well developed and control methods such as the harrow, the crust breaker/the rotary hoe and the hoe on the hoed crops are no longer possible.

Like many weed control methods, timing is crucial but the topper allows thinning of grasses, wild oat, ryegrass, amaranth and thistles.

On thistles, an early pass can cause the plant to tiller but not die, while wild oat requires a pass every 8 days.

Nevertheless, even if the weeding is not definitive, competition is limited.

Advantages

This tool can be used over many different crops because the height is adjustable thanks to the front loader. Usage:

  • Deployment is not controlled by cylinders but the front loader can tilt the tool horizontally, allowing the two extensions to be deployed safely.
  • This tilt of the front loader allows adjustment of the blade attack angle to tackle slightly tougher weeds.
  • Gauge wheels are present for passes over crops like young soybean where it is necessary to pass quite close, and the wheels prevent going too low and cutting the crop.
