An intercep is a family of soil working or mechanical weed control tools specific to viticulture. The common feature of all these tools is that they can pass between the feet of the vines without damaging the trunk. They allow, among other things, to till the vine row, to cut the weeds on the surface or to hoe in order to uproot the root system. The model of the tool and its operating mode will vary depending on the vineyard soil and the degree of slope.
