Heterorhabditis bacteriophora is a species of nematode in the Heterorhabditidae family. This nematode is an obligate endoparasite of insects, which harbours a species of enteric bacteria, Photorhabdus luminescens, in its digestive tract, which is lethal to the parasitized insects. This makes it an interesting biological pest control agent for certain insects, including Colorado beetles and Colorado potato beetles.()
