Production


The cherry is the edible fruit of the cherry tree. It is a drupe (fleshy fruit with a stone), spherical in shape, generally darker or darker red up to black, more rarely yellow. This small fruit has around 50 calories per 100 grams. The flower is usually white.


There are over 600 varieties, the best known of which are the Burlat and the Bigarreau. Cherries are harvested from late May to mid-August.()
