Agroforestry Lighthouse: Inagro (West Flanders, Belgium)
Inagro conducts practice-oriented research aimed at supporting profitable innovations in West Flanders' agriculture and horticulture. The Agroforestry Lighthouse integrates research, innovation, and sustainability to improve soil health and boost carbon sequestration. By combining tree integration, organic matter inputs and high-biomass cover crops, we build carbon-rich soils and store it deep within root systems. Future steps — such as non-inversion tillage and low tire pressure techniques — aim to further protect soil life and prevent compaction.
Developed in close collaboration with Flemish research institutions, the Lighthouse supports ongoing agroforestry research in the region, advancing sustainable agriculture through innovation and knowledge exchange
