Trifolium repens, the creeping clover, is a species of dicotyledonous plant in the Fabaceae family, subfamily Faboideae, native to temperate regions of the Old World. It is one of the most widespread species of the Trifolium ( clover) genus. Used as fodder, it is also a weed of cultivated land (especially irrigated orchards) and gardens. It is a very low plant with a creeping stem, recognisable by its white, sometimes slightly pink inflorescences with a pleasant fragrance.
