Field Buttercup (Ranunculus arvensis L.) is a species of plant in the Ranunculaceae family. This herbaceous perennial messicolous buttercup is also known locally as "bassinet des champs" or "pied de poule".

It is a buttercup that displays its small yellow hermaphrodite flowers in the harvest from May to July. This plant is irritating and dangerous as fodder because it contains anemonine. It is declining in cultivation because it is eliminated by certain herbicides.

It can be found at the edges of crops and on wasteland.()
