Panicum miliaceum, or proso millet, is a species of monocotyledonous plant in the Poaceae family, subfamily Panicoideae, native to temperate Asia.
This annual herbaceous plant, cultivated for its edible seeds, is a secondary cereal well adapted to semi-arid zones, and is still grown as a food crop in some parts of Asia. It is also a crop weed, classified as such in some US states.
