Panicum capillare is a species of monocotyledonous plant in the Poaceae family, subfamily Panicoideae, native to North America.
It is an annual, clumping herbaceous plant with erect or geniculate stems that can reach 20 to 80 cm in height. In North America, it is a weed of crops, with an atrazine-resistant population reported in Canada in 1981. It has been introduced and naturalised in Europe, where it has been imported as an ornamental plant.()
