Management of Phytosanitary Product Waste in the Field

From Triple Performance

It is possible to rinse the sprayer in the field provided that:

  • You are at least 50m away from a water point;
  • Do not perform the operation on frozen soil;
  • Do not repeat the operation in the same place more than once a year.

Management of sprayer tank residues in the field

It is possible to manage the sprayer tank residues in the field provided the following protocol is respected:

  • Dilute the tank residue volume at least 5 times for the first dilution and spread it quickly over the plot;

Then

  • Repeat the operation (dilution then spreading) one or two additional times if necessary to obtain a 1/100 dilution compared to the initial spray mixture concentration;

Then

  • Drain the tank residue in the field respecting the following conditions:
    • Maintain a distance of 50 m from a water point and 100 m from bathing areas, fish farms, and water catchments;
    • Avoid runoff or risk of deep infiltration (on frozen or snowy soil, steep terrain, and water-saturated soil);
    • Do it only once per plot and per year.

Essential prerequisite: limit the volume of effluent by accurately calculating the spray mixture volume, properly adjusting the spraying equipment, spraying until priming loss...

These measures help prevent pollution, especially of water resources.
