Feltiella acarisuga
Feltiella acarisuga is a species of dipteraninsect, a small fly in the Cecidomyiidae family. It is native to Western Europe and the Mediterranean basin.
It is a predatory midge that feeds on various species of phytophagous mites.
It is common in the presence of mite colonies, but requires a high prey density and high humidity to establish itself.
This species is used as a biological control agent, particularly in the EPPO region, where it has been marketed since 1995 to control Tetranychus urticae and Tetranychus cinnabarinus in glasshouse crops.()
