European rabbit

From Triple Performance
Oryctolagus cuniculus
Ravageur

The wild rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) is a species of lagomorph mammal in the Leporidae family. Wild populations are common in Europe, but in decline, and the species was introduced to Australia in 1859, where it became invasive. Until the Middle Ages, rabbits were often reared in semi-liberty, in vast enclosed spaces known as garennes, giving them their vernacular name. In its domesticated form, the species is common almost everywhere in the world, reared in hutches. The wild rabbit is the parent species of all domestic rabbits, with numerous breeds and varieties obtained through selection, including dwarf rabbits.()
