Broadleaved dock

Multi-year work on perennials in meadows in the Limousin region has resulted in the production of atechnical sheet describing the various stages of the 1st dock development cycle in temporary meadows and outlining the ways in which docks multiply, before addressing the key control points.
Details of the cycle :
Monitoring carried out in the Limousin region since 2015 on dock in grassland indicates that the flowering stem emerges at around 1000°C (sum of temperatures based on 0°C on 1 February, a measurement tool also used in rotational grazing management). This observation suggests that rumex can be controlled by early mowing or shredding of the stubble after the first flushes, before 1,000°C : theaim is to anticipate the period when rumexes go to seed and avoid this path of rumex multiplication.
