Dasineura brassicae (the crucifer silique midge or rapeseed midge) is a species of dipteraninsect in the Cecidomyiidae family, native to Europe.
This insect is a pest of oilseed rape crops in particular. The damage is caused by the larvae, which feed on the inner wall of the siliques, causing them to burst and dispersing the seeds.()
