Aphidoletes aphidimyza, the aphid midge, is a species ofinsect in the order Diptera in the family Cecidomyiidae.


The larva of this species is predatory and attacks over 70 species of aphid, including the green peach aphid. It is used successfully in biological control in glasshouses, as the female lays her eggs in the middle of aphid colonies.()
